Free SAT and ACT Workshops for HighSchool Students Feb. 23, March 23, Apr. 5, May 17
Getting a college acceptance letter is no cakewalk. Good grades alone won't guarantee a spot at a first-choice university: SAT and ACT
entrance exam scores matter. To help high school students excel on the tests, Fort Valley State University's University Today Scholars Program
will offer free monthly SAT/ACT Workshops beginning Saturday, Feb. 23 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Evans Building. Each workshop is
scheduled a week before a ACT or SAT exam date.
Corbin Stephens, FVSU's program coordinator of the University Today Scholars Program, says the workshops will help students excel on the SAT
and ACT and that high scores on the entrance exams will help students earn scholarship money essential to fund a college education.
"It's very important that students take advantage of free test advice," says Stephens.
The workshops focus on the verbal, math and grammar sections of the SAT/ACT tests, as well as time management and test-taking strategies.
Spring workshop dates are:
Feb. 23
March 23
Apr. 5
May 17
All participants will receive a free copy of Gruber's Complete SAT Guide
2008. For more information about registration, contact Corbin Stephens
at (478) 825-6060 or e-mail stephens@fvsu.edu.
